As a Staff Engineer you will contribute to build and maintain a technical portfolio for IT systems and digital products ensuring an efficient airport operation.

As Staff Engineer within Business Platform Operations, you provide a strong technical direction by establishing a technical vision, resolving technical disagreements and managing the technical quality of teams' deliverables. You will be in the lead for the collaboration with the engineering teams and external stakeholders, to create an environment that fosters innovation and helps the teams take smart risks and learn from failures. Creating, implementing, and taking ownership of the BPO strategy vision from a technical perspective, guiding engineering teams and the leadership team in this direction.
Collaborating with architects and technical leaders from other IT & Data departments to maintain a holistic view of all products within BPO, ensuring alignment with company-wide architectural principles.
Advising and supporting engineering teams in the continuous evaluation and improvement of development standards, infrastructure, and processes to create technology that delivers sustainable value for the business.
Designing strategies for future development projects and participating in transition and migration initiatives.
Mentoring and developing technical talent across teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Simplifying technical concepts for non-technical partners and communicating effectively in a complex stakeholder landscape.

The Business Platform Operations is responsible for all IT, Digital and Data solutions enabling the Schiphol Operations, as well today, the day of tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The aim of Business Platform Operations is to contribute to excellent aviation performance by ensuring efficient and fast airport processes. We do this by building and maintaining a product portfolio with capabilities ensuring an efficient airport operation.

A technical background, preferably 8+ years of past working experience in a senior development position.
Strong leadership skills to guide the technical experts within BPO and inspire them on technical knowledge and personal growth.
Engineering experience with a tech stack around Angular, Typescript, Python, Java and/or Azure DevOps is considered a plus.
Strong communication skills to simplify technical concepts to nontechnical partners and communicate in a complex stakeholder landscape.

€ 5552 to € 7803 gross per month (Schaal 14).
A 13th month (year-end bonus).
The possibility to work 4 x 9 hours in a 36-hour work week.
Participation in the ABP pension fund.
