Connecting your world

As an Integration Engineer working alongside the platform developers, your main responsibilities will include adding new functionalities and maintaining the existing infrastructure to ensure seamless connections between the Netherlands and the rest of the world. How you achieve results within this role is up to you. As our Integration Engineer, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing the Confluent Kafka platform using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Ansible.
  • Developing the AMQ platform using Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and Python.
  • Providing support to users during the onboarding process onto the platform and offering ongoing support.
  • Participating in stand-by duties approximately once every 5 to 6 weeks to resolve any potential disruptions.

Within ET (Enterprise Technology) at Schiphol Group, Platform Services is the team responsible for managing the platforms used by Schiphol developers, including managed Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and Confluent Kafka. The team continuously evaluates and adjusts the platform list to cater to the needs of developers.

As the team is rapidly expanding, it consists of focus groups, namely Applications and Foundation. Foundation focuses on core platforms like Kubernetes and CI/CD, while Applications concentrates on Kafka and AMQ.

Operating as a DevOps team, Platform Services follows the SCRUM methodology to deliver efficient and collaborative solutions.

For this role, showing interest in others and the ability to connect with different individuals are important qualities. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience with Messaging based on Kafka and/or AMQ.
  • Possess an Agile mindset, embracing the principles of flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability.
  • Willingness to participate in stand-by duties.
  • It is considered a plus if you have experience with cloud-native technologies such as CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
